Hi All,
Recently I had the opportunity to have Ben do some work on a few of my amps. I wanted to take the time to write up a quick review on his work and what you can expect when dealing with Ben. I am an avid audiophile. I collect, restore to the best of my ability, and I listen to tons of music. For those of you who are true music lovers and listen to a good 8-10hrs a day of dedicated listening you will understand where I am coming from. I don’t review products or people often, so I felt the need to do this as it’s not often someone comes along and blows your audio-loving-mind.
I have a few amps that Ben has worked on now, one of his Mcintosh MC-2105’s and one of my all-time favorite amps the Optonica SM-4305. Apples to oranges you ask? No, not after it has been touched by Ben.
I have had a few Optonica SM amps for a number of years, I know them well. This was one of the 1stamps I gave to Ben as I figured it wouldn’t cost me much money as there was not much to it.
Got the amp back this week. By far the most amazing sounding upgrade in an amp I have ever listened to. The Depth of range is just insane.
Ben isn’t just swapping caps out, there is some magic to his work, he is making sure the unit is in alignment and sounds fantastic. I am truly shocked at his work, I want to be one of the 1st few to write a review, as I really want to be the one to say, “I told you so”.
I can get into all the fancy words like imaging, and casting, and timing, highs, and lows sounding smooth, and rich. I don’t even need to go there, if you have Ben restore one of your amps you will instantly know. His work speaks for itself.
What you can expect:
Fast turnaround
Great pricing
Quality of work
Quality of Sound
I am not being paid, or receiving anything for this review, I am also an avid AK member, you can look me up on AK as well.
I can’t wait for others to find him and realize how amazing his work really is
